Mr. Barnett was born in Berkeley, California, and attended San Jose State University
where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting
in 1976. He was a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Honorary Accounting Fraternity and
was formerly employed by a certified public accountancy firm pending law school
admission that same year. He received his law degree from Pepperdine University
in 1979 and was admitted to the California State Bar that year. He is also admitted
to practice before the United States Supreme Court and all United States District
Courts in California. Mr. Barnett's practice focuses on debtor and creditor issues
both in and out of bankruptcy proceedings. Mr. Barnett has attained an AV rating
by Martindale Hubbell and is a California State Bar Certified Bankruptcy Specialist.
He has been responsible for the reorganization of several publicly traded companies.
Mr. Barnett is an appointed Mediator for United States Bankruptcy Court, Central
District of California as well as the Mayor Pro tem of the City of Villa Park and
its Finance Committee Chairman. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of
the Orange County Fire Authority and a former Orange County superior court judge pro tem.
Mr. Barnett's current and former professional associations include the Federal Bar
Association, Orange County Bar Association, Orange County Trial Lawyers Association,
and the Business Litigation, Tax and Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Sections of the
Orange County Bar Association. Mr. Barnett was a former Savings and Loan board member.
He is also a member of the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum and a former Director
and Treasurer of the Newport Harbor Bar Association. He also holds a pilot's license
and is active in local community affairs.
Mr. Rubin was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and attended California State
University, Fullerton, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science
in 1975. He studied law at Western State University College of Law and earned his
Juris Doctor degree in 1978. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1979
and is also admitted to practice before all U.S. District Courts in California.
In 1983, he was admitted to United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Rubin’s memberships in professional associations include the Orange County Bar
Association and the American Bar Association. His practice includes business, real
estate, and commercial litigation, business transactions, receivership law, and
civil trials. His extensive litigation experience includes numerous jury and bench
trials through verdict and/or judgment, as well as numerous arbitration and mediation
Ms. Salmond was born at Stanford University, California, and earned a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, in
1985. She earned her law degree in 1988 from University of Southern California where
she was a member of Phi Delta Phi Law Fraternity and was awarded the American Jurisprudence
Award for Real Estate Transactions. She was admitted to the California State Bar
1988 and was subsequently admitted to all United States District Courts throughout
California. In 1993, she was admitted to the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Salmond’s current and former professional associations include Orange County
Legion Lex Inn of Court, Orange County Bar Association, Orange County Bankruptcy
Forum, Orange County Women Bankruptcy Lawyers, American Bar Association. Her involvement
in community service organizations has included the Assistance Leagues of Santa
Ana and Orange, Greater Orange Chapter of National League of Young Men, Inc.,
and the Boards of her local public schools’ parent / faculty / student organizations.
